The F-35A Figher Jet is Now Declared at Initial Operational Capacity

The F-35A is ready for combat. With these words, the commander of the Air Combat Command, General Herbert "Hawk" Carlisle, announced the certification IOC (Initial Operational Capability).

The first squadron will consist of twelve F-35A. 21 pilots of the 34th Fighter Squadron enabled the A version with operational headquarters in Hill Air Force Base. The twelve hunting, as was the case for those of Marine, were the same as those currently deployed. The changes implemented, will be part of the future production line.

The USAF, has declared operational tactical fighter, exactly one year after the Marines. Version A concerns a conventional takeoff and landing platform. Italy has purchased 60 F-35A.

The large-scale production will not begin before 2019, while the 4F software, capable of enabling the entire arsenal designed for the F-35, will not be released before 2022 (except for delays).

However, the IOC certification for version A, represents a turning point in the JSF program, despite the criticisms and problems, continues its path of development.
